Footers Are Your Friends
Many of my clients regard footers as unnecessary clutter: "After all," they say, "can't most of the information contained in website footers be found elsewhere on my site?"
The answer is yes, but that's not the point. Users (like myself) often jump down to the bottom of the page to find contact information. For newcomers to your website, deciding whether or not to contact you is a split-second decision; if they can't find this information instantly, they may move on to another site where contact information is easy to find (I've done this exact thing myself many times).
Also commonly included in footers are disclaimers, copyright information, and privacy statements.
