A Newsletter?
Do I Really
Need One?
Opt-in email solutions like Constant Contact allow you to build a list of email contacts and send regular emails to your clients (in html) so as to market your products or services.
I advise clients to use newsletters judiciously (perhaps monthly), so users are less likely to develop "newsletter fatigue" and decide to opt out.
Using the program dashboard, you can tailor the newsletters to display images and reflect your branding.
The benefits are:
1) Current clients are more likely to come back to you for services, especially if you provide them with information that is useful to them in each newsletter (don't just bombard them with links and text), and
2) Users can opt in and opt out of the newsletter at any time. For this reason I recommend clients backup their newsletter list of emails regularly, if possible.
Remember: Consistency is the key. Post at regular intervals.
